The Mason County District Library and West Shore Bank announced today that the community room in the new library building will be named the West Shore Bank Room.
The West Shore Bank room is being built as a part of the Keith Wilson Children’s Center at the Ludington Library. The 1,300 sq. ft. meeting room and activity center will be able to accommodate not only many of the very popular children’s and adult programs offered by the Library, but will also be available for use by community groups as well. The West Shore Bank room will incorporate a small kitchen facility and AV equipment, and will be available to use even when the Library is closed.
The Board of the Mason County District Library, in naming the West Shore Bank Room, acknowledges not only the Bank’s generous donation to the Just Imagine Campaign but also their long-term commitment to the Library and to the continuing development of downtown Ludington.
“As a local community bank, we are committed to finding ways we can make a real difference in the West Shore area. The literacy of our children and adults is paramount to the future success of our community,” stated Raymond Biggs, President and CEO of West Shore Bank. “The naming of this room was a natural fit. We know many organizations and programs in the community will benefit from the use of this facility and we are pleased to partner in this endeavor with the Library.”
“We are very pleased with this association,” said Library Director, Robert Dickson. “West Shore Bank has assisted us throughout our fundraising campaign and has provided us not only with financial support but with their expertise as well. West Shore Bank was one of the first business contributors to our campaign almost four years ago and has been at our side ever since.”
The Keith Wilson Children’s Center at the Ludington Library is nearing completion. When finished, the $2 million dollar expansion will add over 5,300 square feet to the library. The dedication of the new facility is planned for mid-May.West Shore Bank has been serving the financial needs of Mason, Manistee and Oceana Counties since 1898.
