Concert Series Benefits Local School Music Programs

28-Oct-2017

West Shore Bank is pleased to announce that for the sixth year in a row, proceeds from its Rhythm & Dunes summer concert series was donated to benefit music programs of local area schools. Record crowds of music-fans flocked to Waterfront Park in Downtown Ludington to enjoy the two performances this summer.  In addition to performances from Mirage, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band and Pop Vinyl, a Southern California premiere dance band, crowds were treated to performances by the Mason County Central Jazz Band and Ludington High School’s Jazz Ensemble.

The Bank is delighted to extend donations to three Mason County schools – Ludington Area Schools, Mason County Central, and Mason County Eastern. Donations accepted during the concerts, food vendor fees and other merchandise sales provided a total donation this year of $12,000.

West Shore Bank would like to thank the community for its support of the Rhythm & Dunes concerts and for coming out to enjoy the shows. The Bank would also like to express thanks to its other supporting vendors: Lela’s Kettle Corn, Jimmy John’s of Ludington, Krave’s Frozen Yogurt, Little Caesar’s Pizza of Ludington, The Q Smokehouse, Lakeside Weiner Wagon, and Taco ‘Bout It. At a luncheon held on Tuesday, October 24, the Bank presented their donation to representatives from each school.

“The turnout for this year’s concerts was the highest we have experienced,” said Raymond A. Biggs, President and CEO of West Shore Bank. “West Shore Bank is proud to support and make a difference in our communities and our schools.  It’s an honor to come together with our friends and neighbors to celebrate and support music education for our local students.”

During the past six years, over $42,000 has been donated to these local music programs.  Funds have been used to buy and repair instruments, purchase sheet music and provide accessories for students with financial needs.  Mason County Eastern offers a K-12 music program for students and hired a full-time music instructor with funds donated from these concerts.

As an independent and locally owned bank, West Shore Bank is committed to making a real difference in the local community and providing valuable financial solutions to all its customers.  For more information about West Shore Bank, stop by any branch location or visit us online.
